Initially, “Article 370” showcased promising numbers, sparking anticipation among audiences keen to observe its performance over the week. However, as Monday unfolded, the film encountered a notable decline in box-office receipts, signaling a challenging phase ahead.

According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, the movie’s earnings plummeted to $392K on its first Monday, marking a significant 66% drop compared to its Sunday figures. Nevertheless, despite this setback, the film’s cumulative net box-office collection soared to an impressive $3.1 million within just four days of release.

Aditya Dhar Films, the production house behind “Article 370,” provided additional insights into the film’s global performance. They revealed that the movie’s worldwide gross collection had surpassed the $4.1 million mark, indicating widespread acceptance and appeal among audiences worldwide, despite the Monday slump.

Furthermore, statistics from Monday indicated that “Article 370” managed to maintain a 13.10 percent occupancy rate across theaters. In key metropolitan areas like Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, where the film enjoyed a significant presence with 695 and 784 shows respectively, the occupancy rates stood at 14.25 percent and 11.75 percent respectively. Meanwhile, in Chennai, where the film was screened in 33 shows, the occupancy rate peaked at 28.75 percent.

“Article 370” presents a political thriller narrative inspired by purported real-life events surrounding the controversial abrogation of the titular article. While the film garnered mixed reviews from critics, Yami Gautam, one of its leading stars, remained optimistic and expressed gratitude to the audience for their support on social media.

In her statement, Gautam conveyed heartfelt thanks, stating, “Thank you so much for giving so much love to our small little film, with a big heart. We are humbled and will remain forever grateful to all of you.”

Presently, “Article 370” continues to enjoy a relatively unchallenged run at the box office, capitalizing on the absence of significant competition in the market.
