Employees of Sahara Group companies have filed petitions demanding the payment of their pending salaries.

The Grievance: They have not received their wages for several months.

The Bench: The matter was mentioned before the bench comprising Chief Justice B.R. Gavai, Justice Surya Kant, and Justice M. M. Sundresh. The Direction: CJI Gavai agreed to the request, stating, "Okay. These petitions will also be listed for hearing on November 17."

Simultaneous Listing: The employees’ petitions will be heard alongside an existing application filed by Sahara India Commercial Corporation Limited (SICCL). SICCL’s Application: SICCL is seeking permission to sell its 88 key properties to Adani Properties Private Limited.

– Previous Order: On October 14, while considering SICCL's plea, the bench had sought responses from the Central Government, SEBI, and other stakeholders. – The Background: This is part of a long-pending case related to the Sahara Group’s refund obligations.

New Parties: The bench ordered the Central Finance and Co-operation Ministries to be impleaded (made parties) in the current proceedings, noting the submissions of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta. Adjournment: The court had previously adjourned the proceedings until November 17.
